The Quantity Surveying(QS) function mainly covers in a building project, managing the costs from the early design plans through to the building’s completion. Carrying out feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labor costs as well as negotiating and drawing up bids for tenders and contracts are very important. In Blue Lotus, QS function facilitates to construct your own BOQ entry and also it would compare and populate a post contract BOQ after updating the Rate analysis based on standard BSR, HSR codes or based on your own set of norms. When populating the BOQ entry, BOQ No, Client, Advances, Advance recovery, Retentions, Guarantees, Payment lag days are some of the common fields in the Blue Lotus ERP software. Further, Blue Lotus BOQ measurement sheet provides the facility to enter the contract progress statistics to raise necessary progress billings based on the percentage of completion basis or any other basis from the system.
Sub Contract Management
A subcontractor is hired by a general contractor (or prime contractor, or main contractor) to perform a specific task as part of the overall project and is normally paid for services provided to the project by the originating general contractor. Sub contract module is specialized in setting up each subcontractor with respective details and allows to demonstrate logically each Subcontractor wise recoveries and also their respective payments.
Project management includes developing a project plan, which includes defining and confirming the project goals and objectives, identifying tasks and how goals will be achieved, quantifying the resources needed, and determining budgets and timelines for completion. It also includes managing the implementation of the project plan, along with operating regular ‘controls’ to ensure that there is accurate and objective information on ‘performance’ relative to the plan, and the mechanisms to implement recovery actions where necessary.

The key feature in the Blue Lotus is that you would be able to link your item wise BOQ to the project, by which it enables for scheduling and planning of the project with approximate predecessors. Once linked with project, the baseline plan would be updated the relevant actual work done (Daily Progress) against each BOQ line item. Also PM module supports any document, planning materials to upload each task wise in the system.
This module demonstrates a predominant role in the Blue Lotus once the project is awarded and initiated. The system facilitates to issue site level requisitions, purchase requisitions, stores requisitions and also purchase orders, sales orders etc.
When it comes to inventory, the system facilitates to issue materials form one project to another or to a different location. All these could be verified with multi-level approval or auto approval methods.
Blue Lotus facilitates from prime entry book keeping producing main financial statements for audit purposes covering Trial balance, balance sheet and the income statement (P&L). Apart from maintaining the main general ledger, petty cash management, PD cheque management, bank reconciliation, debtors /creditors controls accounts, fund transfers are the other value added features in the Finance and accounting module
Asset management is a systematic process of operating, maintaining, and upgrading assets cost-effectively. In the Blue Lotus we configure and address all fixed assets usage with correct depreciation attached. Also Blue Lotus Trackit would provide a valuable insight to the system by tracking certain assets by location using GPS tracking facility
